terms of service

These terms govern your use of diff social at diffsocial.dev (the "service"), provided by Aion Consulting, a business based in the United States ("Aion Consulting", "we", "us"). By signing in or using the service you agree to them. If you use it for an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you may.

diff social's software is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. Running your own copy is governed by that license, not by these terms; these terms cover only the service we run.

accounts and tenants

  • You sign in through our identity provider (WorkOS), with Google, GitHub or another method it offers. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • A tenant is an organization on the service: its members, rooms, installations, agents, tokens and plan. Its admins decide who belongs and manage its plan, and are responsible for its members’ use.
  • Service tokens act for their tenant. Keep them secret; anything presenting one is treated as the tenant.

what the service does

diff social opens a room for a GitHub pull request, commit or comparison, where people and AI agents discuss its changes. Agents propose; people decide. Code comes from GitHub, as your GitHub permissions and the installations your tenant claims allow.

AI output can be wrong. Findings, explanations and patches from agents are suggestions, made by language models and by agents you or others add. Review them before relying on or applying them. You are responsible for what you accept, merge and ship.

your content

You keep all rights to what you bring and write: code, messages, decisions and anything else in your rooms ("your content"). You grant us a limited license to host, copy, process and transmit it only to provide and secure the service, including sending the parts an agent needs to the model provider or agent that answers it, as the privacy policy describes. We do not sell your content or use it to train models.

You confirm you have the right to use the code and content you bring, including under GitHub's terms and your organization's rules.

agents you add

A tenant can add remote agents over the A2A protocol. The lines and messages sent to such an agent go to whoever runs it, under their terms, not ours. We do not control or vouch for agents other than our built-in ones.

acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, infringe others’ rights, or bring code or content you have no right to;
  • get around the service’s limits, budgets, authorization or tenant boundaries, or probe or attack it, or other people through it;
  • overload it, scrape it, or run it as a proxy to GitHub, model providers or anything else;
  • use it to make malware or to harass anyone;
  • resell it, or present it as your own service, without our written agreement.

We may limit, suspend or end access that breaks these rules or puts the service or others at risk, with notice where we reasonably can.

plans and payment

  • The free plan includes a monthly amount of model work per tenant. A team plan is billed monthly in advance, per seat, at the price shown when you subscribe.
  • A team plan renews automatically each month, at the then-current price for its seats, until it is canceled. Admins can cancel online at any time under billing, and the plan then runs to the end of the month already paid for.
  • Seats follow members: when people join or leave a paying tenant, its seat count changes to match, at least one seat, and the difference is prorated on the next invoice.
  • Each paid seat adds a monthly amount of model work to the tenant’s budget. When a budget is spent, model work stops until the next month or a larger plan; the rest of the service keeps working.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. Prices exclude taxes unless stated; taxes are added where they apply.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice to the tenant’s admins. A change applies from the next billing period after the notice.
  • Cancellation and refunds are covered by the refund policy.

availability and changes

The service is new and changing. We work to keep it available and your content safe, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change or stop features; if we stop the service altogether, we will give paying tenants at least 30 days’ notice and a way to export their rooms.

ending

You can stop using the service at any time, and a tenant’s admins can cancel its plan. We may end these terms for a tenant that seriously or repeatedly breaks them. On ending, we delete the tenant’s content as the privacy policy describes. The sections on your content, disclaimers, liability and governing law continue after ending.

disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if more. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

general

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and disputes go to the state and federal courts in California, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring them where you live.
  • We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with its date and, for changes that matter, tell signed-in admins at least 30 days before they apply. Using the service after that means you accept them.
  • If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part is not giving it up.
